Dr. Matthew J. Taylor, PT, PhD, RYT is a yoga expert witness. His experience, broad background as rehab provider, health club owner and senior yoga therapist serving on the board of directors of the International Association of Yoga Therapists make him an expert of unparalleled qualification.

 

Services include consultation, investigation, research and expert testimony on all yoga-related personal injury cases, including: falls, soft tissue trauma, ergonomic consultations, repetitive micro-trauma, manual corrections, and chronic disability.

 

Specializing in studio risk management, studio safety training, maintenance, management and operation; standards of practice, student safety, supervision issues, disability assessment, practice modifications, yoga philosophy and training. Dr. Taylor believes that by providing expert witness services he can serve both the yoga teaching community and the public by promoting true ahimsa through non-harming, informed judicial process in our society.

Retainer Fee: $2,000.00

To be paid prior to starting work for a new client, or on a new case. The first 10 hours of services provided at $200.00 per hour, will be deducted from the retainer. An invoice for services and expenses will be sent on a regular monthly basis. No refund will be made if services rendered are less than the $2,000.00 retainer fee.

Hotel charges are to be prepaid by the client. Business or first class air travel is to be paid directly to our travel agent.

Rental car, postage, long distance phone charges, photocopy charges, photo development, meals, parking, and miscellaneous travel expenses will be billed monthly.

Deposition, Arbitration or Court Appearance
$660.00 + $250.00 / hour
Three hour minimum (3 hour at $250.00 / hour = $750.00) is to be paid at the beginning of the deposition. An additional $250.00 per hour is to be paid at the conclusion of the deposition for each additional hour beyond the 3 hour minimum. A minimum $500.00 fee will be charged to for any deposition canceled or rescheduled with less than 72 hours notice.

Reduced Rates $115.00 / hour or $1,000.00 / day Reduced rates may be extended to 501 c 3 non profit agencies, to clients where on-going consulting projects generate at least 15 hours of charges per month for a minimum of 3 months, or where the maximum daily rate is applied for a minimum of 7 consecutive days.

Emergency Services Rate x 1.5 Quoted fees are for work performed during normal working hours, 8:30 am – 6:00 pm AzMT. For emergency assistance, or consulting outside of normal working hours, 1.5 rates will apply.
